EXAMPLES OF DESIGN PROJECTS BY JULIA:

Working with the owner of a 1970s house Julia was involved in the reconfiguration of the interior of the house.

  • The wall between the kitchen and living/dining area was removed to create an open floor plan.
  • The existing staircase to the basement was moved to another location which allowed for better use of space and interesting furniture placement.
  • Walls were removed to create a master suite which included the bedroom, bathroom and a room combining office, shoe and hat closet, laundry, window seat, and area for exercise. Creative storage was integrated in the design.
  • A custom kitchen was designed using zebra wood for the upper cabinets in conjunction with stained alder lower cabinets. Two different quartz countertops were used. A drawer microwave was incorporated.
  • Custom window treatments were provided.
  • Furniture was purchased through the Denver Design Center for the living room, dining room and sitting room. A custom made upholstered headboard was made, as well as, custom bedding.
  • Julia designed and implemented a bookcase which covered a living room wall to house books, art and a collection of record albums.
  • Also designed and constructed was a bed surround which included bedside drawers and surfaces, as well as shelving.
  • The client wanted to have the ability to see everything in her closet at one time so the closet was designed using the full width of one wall.created along one wall of the bedroom. Rather than bulky sliding doors a vertiglide was used so all the closet contents could be viewed.
  • Boulder Design provided all plumbing, hardware and lighting. Carpet was provided for the living room and the master bedroom.
